The classified ad in the local paper read: “Medical Stool Donor Needed. $100 [per week]. Yep, you read it right. I need your poo!” Dave Hosking, frontman for Australian band Boy & Bear, saw his health rapidly deteriorating. He struggled to get a proper diagnosis, and every treatment he tried failed, until "fecal transplants" gave him his life and his music back. In September, the group released their first album in four years, a record that wouldn’t have been possible without one of the most unique crew members in rock history: a “poo roadie.” Illustration by Sean McCabe
