'Game of Thrones' actress Esmé Bianco has sued Marilyn Manson and his former manager, Tony Ciulla, alleging that the singer raped and sexually battered her. The complaint, filed Friday in the United States District Court for the Central District of California, also claims that Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, Ciulla and Ciulla’s management company violated human trafficking laws by bringing her from London to Los Angeles under the pretense that she would be acting in a music video that never came out and a film that was never made. The British actress, who played Ros on the hit HBO show, was one of more than a dozen women to speak out against the shock rocker earlier this year. In February, she detailed the alleged abuse stemming from her relationship with Warner when they were a couple in 2011 in an interview with 'New York' magazine. On Friday, she added fresh claims in the new legal filing. The complaint marks the first legal action against Warner since allegations of sexual and physical abuse surfaced this year. Three men have been charged with federal hate crimes and the attempted kidnapping of Ahmaud Arbery, who was shot and killed while jogging in Georgia last year. The three men — Travis McMichael, his father Gregory McMichael, and William Bryan — are already facing murder, aggravated assault and false imprisonment charges in a separate state case. The McMichaels and Bryan were each charged with one count of interfering with someone’s rights and one count of attempted kidnapping. The McMichaels are also charged with one count each of using, carrying and brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, while Travis is charged with discharging his weapon. The music world has lost a true icon: Anita Lane, the Bad Seed who helped redefine the spirit of evil in rock & roll. “Once there came a storm in the form of a girl,” Nick Cave famously sang, and for many fans, Anita Lane was that storm. She was a key Cave collaborator, but also an artist and cult figure in her own right, with solo gems like 'Dirty Pearl' and 'Sex O’Clock.' She co-wrote classics like “From Her to Eternity” and “Stranger Than Kindness,” the song that provided the title for Cave’s new photo book. “The world’s a girl/And I’m taking her apart,” Lane sang in her great 1993 solo theme song “The World’s a Girl,” and she lived up to that spirit. Anita Lane stood out in the Eighties for her sinister mystique. Her role in the Bad Seeds was comparable to Anita Pallenberg with the Rolling Stones. She was a lot more than a muse — she was the girl who schooled these boys in the art of badness, the queen of this underground. And like Pallenberg, she had a star power that was all her own. She gave Nick Cave his lessons in how to work a vacant stare, how to curl his lip, how to twist his whole body into a sneer against the world. That’s part of what made her a cult hero — she showed shy girls how to come on scary. It was all in that sneer. At the link in bio, Rob Sheffield pays tribute to Anita Lane's dark genius. On Wednesday, photographer Jesse Frohman launched a website to auction off a non-fungible token (NFT) with more than 100 pictures from that day, which he calls “The Last Session.” Multiple contact sheets and negatives had never been scanned prior to the creation of this drop, so some of the images have not yet been seen publicly, Frohman tells Rolling Stone. As of 12:00 p.m. ET on April 28th, anyone can preview thumbnails of the images online, but only buyers will receive the high-resolution versions. The auction starts on May 3rd at 12:00 p.m. ET and goes until May 7th at 6:00 p.m. ET. The starting bid for the one-of-one holy grail is 27.27 ETH — a nod to the singer’s age — which roughly equates to $72,000 USD at press time. A portion of all proceeds will go to the JED Foundation, a nonprofit focused on suicide prevention and the promotion of mental wellbeing among teens in America. Tap the link in bio to read more. A new four-hour documentary about Kiss will air as part of A&E's long-running 'Biography' series this summer. Directed by D.J. Viola, the four-hour doc will chronicle Kiss’ 50-year history and feature interviews with Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, as well as current members Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer. (Based on a press release, it’s unclear if former, but founding, members Ace Frehley and Peter Criss were interviewed for the film.) The doc will offer an in-depth look at Kiss’ start in New York City’s rock scene during the Seventies, their rise to global fame, struggles with drugs and alcohol during the Eighties, and their revival and reunion in the Nineties. KISStory will also feature interviews with avowed Kiss fans like Dave Grohl and Tom Morello, as well as the band’s manager Doc McGhee and producer Bob Ezrin. Tap the link in bio to read more. Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood announced early this week that he had recently been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive small-cell cancer but has been given the “all-clear” from his doctors. Wood revealed the diagnosis — which marks his second bout with cancer — in an interview with 'The Sun.' A representative for Wood confirmed the diagnosis to 'Rolling Stone.' “I’ve had cancer two different ways now,” Wood said in the interview. “I had lung cancer in 2017 and I had small-cell more recently that I fought in the last lockdown.” Small-cell cancer can grow quickly and is typically found in the lungs, although it can also appear in the prostate, pancreas, bladder, or lymph nodes. Wood did not offer any more specifics about the diagnosis, but despite the potential danger he said he “came through with the all-clear.” Tap the link in bio to read more.
