Last summer was a particularly contentious time for rap superstar Travis Scott. It had its highs: label Cactus Jack's second compilation album, 'Jackboys 2,' debuted at Number One on the charts. On the other side, Scott found himself pulled into Pusha T's long-running feud with Drake: Clipse released the single “So Be It” which takes direct aim at Scott.

Pusha T alleged that Scott once crashed a recording session between Clipse and Pharrell Williams and hid the fact that he had a Drake verse on his album that took shots at Pharrell. Scott tells Rolling Stone that Drake's verse hadn't come in yet: "A lot of shit [Pusha] was saying just didn’t make sense to me. It was like he was saying I was interrupting shit and I was playing them shit. First of all, I can’t interrupt something that somebody asked me to come pull up on."

@charlieputh's 'Whatever’s Clever!' is his fourth album, but in some ways, it feels more like a debut. The collection is his best work yet, built around an entirely new approach — airy, jazzy, live-instrument-driven production that tends to land somewhere between Bruce Hornsby’s “The Way It Is” and Michael Jackson’s “Human Nature.”

In a new edition of The Rolling Stone Interview, the singer-songwriter goes deep on his strong new album, making mistakes, performing at the Super Bowl, and what that Taylor shoutout did for him. Link in bio.
