There are two guaranteed things you'll do and see while living in Montreal: biking and construction. And when you combine the two, another guarantee is the frustration you'll feel trying to navigate a dangerous construction site on two wheels, dodging cars and the insults of angry construction workers, alike.

A recent shooting in Montreal's Old Port, which left five people, including an SPVM officer, wounded, has drawn the concerns of city hall. On Sunday, September 13, a 33-year-old man fired shots at approaching police officers near the Quai de l'Horloge. In a statement released Monday, Mayor Valérie Plante said she is "concerned" by the recent violent crime in Montreal and wants to reassure the public that the city is taking steps to address it.

Fall is on the horizon, but there’s good news ahead. Canada’s fall forecast just dropped and the season is expected to be much warmer and milder than usual. Even better, it’s expected to remain pleasant until November in some regions, which means winter is still a long, long way off!

One of the many amazing aspects of Montreal is how many unique cafés there are all around. Seriously, our city is stocked with them. One of my personal favourites has always been Pigeon.
