The best people, apart from film critics, are Sanjay Dutt’s friends to give their opinion on his biopic ‘Sanju’. Jaipur’s famous film distributor Prakash Raj Bansal and Sanjay Dutt have been very good friends for the past 35 years. Bansal, who went to Mumbai for the special screening, says he cried thrice in the film. This can be the best tribute to Ranbir Kapoor, who worked hard to slip into Sanjay Dutt shoes.
Raju Hirani has uncovered some of the intimate details of Sanjay Dutt’s life, which Ranbir has backed to the hilt. Not only Ranbir developed his mannerisms, slouched walking style but morphed himself into Sanjay Dutt. The best part of the film is that director Hirani has portrayed Sanjay Dutt as a human with all the follies. Apart from Ranbir performance, Paresh Rawal as Sunil Dutt stands out with his restrained portrayal of a helpless father torn between his love for his son and his principled reputation and high moral ground which has built over the years.
Among the female cast, Manisha Koirala as Nargis Dutt has done justice to her role.
In all, Sanju is a roller-coaster ride full of laughs, emotions, and tears.
