It’s not just hemlines that make headlines at Vogue, says Laird Borrelli-Persson, Vogue.com’s archive editor. But when it comes to royals they certainly do makes headlines!

Recently, the French Vogue team was in Jaipur for a photo shoot with ‘Le Prince Charmant’  Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh of Jaipur.

This is not the first that a scion of Jaipur royal family will be appearing in the Vogue. Late Rajmata Gaytri Devi, great grandmother of Pacho, the nickname given to him when he was studying at Mayo College, also featured in the Vogue’s 10 most beautiful women.

For the shoot, the 19-year-old Maharaja had the company of Italian model Vittoria Ceretti, who has been the star of campaigns from Bottega Veneta, Alberta Ferretti, Givenchy and Alexander McQueen to Zara.

Since it was a Vogue shoot, it brought Peruvian Mario Testino, considered to be one of the most influential fashion and portrait photographers of our times.
